In the morning of April 15, at the entrance of Huaxi Village, a brief and warm departure ceremony was held. A courier truck loaded with 500,000 masks, 6,000 sets of protective clothing and 3,000 pairs of protective goggles departed from Huaxi Village (as shown in the picture) to the Mozambique Embassy in Beijing. Wu Xie'en, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huaxi Village, revealed that the personal protective equipment will be received by Mozambique's ambassador in China and then sent to the country.
As early as the 1990s, Huaxi Village has been engaged in international exchange and cooperation with Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Mozambique and other countries; in 2014, Many companies from Huaxi Village invested in Africa as part of the “Belt and Road” initiative. In face of the severe global pandemic, Huaxi Village tried the best to raise and donate personal protective equipment to Mozambique. It not only conveyed the warmth of friendship to the people in Mozambique, but also supported its fight against the pandemic with practical actions.
